Steve, Yes, I know. BUT, part of the reason I wanted to give Benchmark a try was because of it's Turbo Pascal-like environment so using my favorite editor (uEdit) would have defeated the purpose. I could have always redefined the keydefs in the version of Emacs that Leon provided. I didn't have the time at the time, but may give it a shot in the future (if/when I reclaim the compiler from Erv). I've read several Mod-2 books from cover to cover and done some simple (under 100 line) programs. I just find that M2 and I don't get along. Maybe I'll try writing a non-trivial app in M2 to give it a fair shot.
