Wolf,
The folks at Fargo say they have an Amiga driver that will be completed
soon that will allow dye sublimation printing on the Amiga. Are you
stating that this driver will not work with AdPro or any other program
that uses the Printer Preferences?
I have no doubt that the Canon BJC600 produces very nice color output.
However, I really don't like the state that ink jet printers (or at least
my HP 500C) leavee the paper in –wrinkled. I also don't like the
tendency of ink jet prints to smear if you are not very careful to let
them dry. For me, however, the decisive feature of the Primera is the
ability to do dye sublimation prints on the Primera. This last weekend I
printed several PhotoCD's using Windows and PhotoMagic (a part of the
Graphics Works program by Micrografx) using dye sublimation on the
Primera. I thought the results were very very good –not quite the equal
of a good photograph but very close to it. And I spent several years
making 16 X 20 in. color prints from transparencies taking on a Hasselblad
using Cibachrome and Kodak materials. However, I have no experience with
expensive dyde sublimation printers, but, intuitively, I would never
expect the Premiera's dye sublimation printing quality to equal that of
printers costing $10-20K. Thanks for expanding on and clarifying your
comments on the Primera.
