Yeah, somehow I see a connection between mining and geology, just a bit. One of the areas I recognize as one that I need to develop in is stratigraphy. In Washington State, other than the Columbia flood basalts, there are not very many exposures nice and neat. Rather, there are elaborate contorted sediments that have ridden down the subduction elevator and then returned in a somewhat altered state. And with all the darn trees, you can't follow a facie easily. The desert has its advantages. Michael
