I know the "REAL" programmers will burn me in effigy for suggesting this, but:
If you don't have it yet, I suggest Power Windows 2.0 as a REALLY nifty tool to
create Intuition windows, etc. A simple graphics interface lets you build the
qindow the way you want it, with all the different types of gadgets and
requesters, then spits out the source code for you in Manx C, Lattice C,
assembler, Modula 2— and soon Multi-Forth. You can even grab windows out of
currently running applications and see exactly how they were built. Power
Windows is one of the best ideas I've seen for programming tools on the Amiga,
and well worth the dough for making a programmer's life easier.
