#Which Modem ?
I use a USR Dual standard 16.8K modem. I actually don't get to use the HST
mode too often, and so a USR Courrier 14.4K modem would have been a better
choice. The modem itself works greats, and is upgradable to 28.8K (V.FAST)
when it will be released (sometime in 94). That's another plus for the modem,
since you won't have to throw it away to get higher speeds in the future.
I'm very satisfied with USR, and so I don't mind having spent a little more
than the other models.
As for a SUPRA, I used one once last year for two weeks from London. I didn't
like the quality of the line that I was getting when calling to the USA from
London, compared to other EC countries. I don't know if the phone connections
are worst from London, than from other places, but I sure didn't have any good
connections. BUt since I didn't have the USR modem there to compare, I really
can't say that it was the modems fault.
