Oops. I forgot about that. You're absolutely correct. An IXP written for R2
will quantize the colors in R3 because it's doing color calculations in a
completely different color space than R3's 16-bit-per-channel image buffers.
If you're doing hilite, flare or glow operations, it's probably best to stick
with R2 until we can get the R3-compatible IXP's written. (Tom Hudson moved
in October and November, and has been making his new house livable (major
remodelling job), so he hasn't had a chance to get the new ixp's done yet. I'm
hoping that after this week he can get them done in January.)
