Yes, he's the same guy that IBM paid to help write OS/2, then wrote WinNT with
the experience gained there, and he's the same one who helped CompuServe
re-write their software for PCs, and then turned around to start "Marvel."
I'm not convinced that background rendering is an optimal way to use a 3D
program. I know it's possible, I know load balancing can help, but there's a
lot of strikes against it, too. Exactly how much slow-down is acceptable when
you're editing? When is it OK for a rendering task to take an indefinite amount
of time? On one hand, people pay extra for Liquid Speed. On the other, they
run 3DS under OS/2.
