For export to the Shaper, you still need to use DXF. To export the new R13
entities do the following: Saveas12, Insert, (spline if desired) and DXFOUT.

Wow! – a bit too detailed to go into here <g>. In a nutshell: w/ 3DSIN you get
everything that AutoVision understands; w/ 3DSOUT you get the ACIS entities and
other entites according to the AutoVision method of export (which differs from
the traditional DXF).
>>3. Are any of the ACIS information importable into 3DS r4?
ACIS entities are exportable directly via R13's 3DSOUT.
