Changing JPG Flavor

I am using a Video Machine Digital Player / Recorder to recording frames of
animation to "tape", and for rotoscoping. The Video Machine supports many
animation file types including JPG. Due to the large number of frames I must
generate, I want to use the most efficient full-color format I can find. This
has generally been the .JPG format, however Video Machine only supports the
"JFIF" flavor of JPG. Is there any 3DS.SET value or other way to change the
JPG files to that flavor?
