Greeting, I am looking at the possibility of Networking a few P.C. and a few Amiga together in a network. Well actually 2 Amiga and 2 P.C. The first idea is to set up a P.C. as a server and connect the rest of the work station to the server. Got any suggestions what software should I use on the P.C. side as a server. First suggestion was Novell but Novell is too expensive. Another friend of mine suggested LINUX the X86 chip base public domain Unix. I don't mind giving LINUX a go. Anyone got any experience on this ? What about on the Amiga Side. Can I use AmiTCP to connect the Amiga to the Unix server ? I have not seen AmiTCP yet does it support File transfer commands like rcp ? If I am going to network the Amiga that means I have to get Ethernet net cards for the Amiga. Is there anyone making Amiga Ethernet cards? I am not a net working expert and I am willing to learn. I am doing this for fun and I don't have a big budget. Suggetions, Warning, Tips are all welcome. Best Regards, Sze C
