Elizabeth, Last year I gave up a thirteen year career of going to sea to return to school and get a profession on land. After going through the career information center I decided on hydrology mainly because I'm not the 9 to 5 type and because geology was one of my interests. However, during this last week I have been going through hell after discovering that the job prospects for hydrology should be drying up since the men I voted for in November are going to "give it to me good." As of today, though, I decided that I'm going to stick to my plans and get my BS in Geology or Hydrological Science should I get accepted to UC Davis someday. I figure that if I can not get a job here in the states than I can go to the middle east where they told me that they will be hiring hydrologists for quite some time. The point is that I'm going to do what I want to do despite what those Bozos in congress do. With a little luck I feel that I should be able to live my dream and do what I love instead of living behind a desk or breaking my back hauling bricks. Doug
