#Welcome!
I'm a recent purchaser of ASL's Megamotion board which comes with Adobe's
Premiere 1.1 software package. My interests are stictly that of an amateur
video camera user.
I have a relatively old and large VHS camera which I've gotten to like, if for
now other reason than I'm used to it. The image quality of the tapes produced
are reasonably good. However, most of the video clips I have made over the
years are relatively uninteresting and boring, even to me. Within the last two
years I have become a grandfather twice over and now have a grandson and a
granddaughter. Needless to say, my video camera has experienced an
order-of-magnitude more use in the last two years relative to the previous six
years. Most of the video clips are still pretty boring but there are some real
gems. My goal is to get reasonably proficient as a video editor so that I may
be able to assemble, comment, enhance, etc., the good clips and create video
"archives" of the family.
My immediate need is to get some information about the real computer hardware
capacity (RAM and hard disk) requirements to do practical editing, and if
anyone has had hands-on experience with the Megamotion board and Adobe
software, what their experiences have been.
I'm happy to see that this forum has been established and I hope it turns out
to be beneficial to all those involved.
