There is a NewTek forum in AmigaVendor (GO AMIGAVEND). RE: LW vs. 3DS. I have only run the demo for 3DS. Never used it professionally. However, I do use Lightwave daily here at work and I'd have to say that, as far as I've seen, the only thing 3DS has over Lightwave is the surfacing interface. Oh, and you can select objects in 3DS's layout screen by simply clicking on them, which would be nice to have in LW (maybe 4.0?). 3DS also has an open architecture which allows plug-in tools (e.g. Kai's Power Tools). Lightwave is supposed to have this ability in its next incarnation, due out soon. Anyway, if you're looking for a biased opinion, you've found one. The output from LW far exceeds what you'll get from 3DS. If you want photo-realism, go for LW. Just watch Babylon 5 or SeaQuest to see what I mean. It's very easy to use and it ROCKS!
