Well, I convert lots of files from Imagine and Litewave, wavefront, and others for Jim at the Rendering Plant. I spend a lot of time converting and cleaning them up, like adding lights, better textures, trying to get the faces all facing the right direction (ha!), and sometimes different atmospheres like underwater etc…, and Jim takes them and renders the mesh to a pic, adds the colors in 3ds to the mesh, and attempts clean up too (he's best with working with the pesky face normals! I give up too easily!!). It's a lot of work, but it makes for a better quality selection. I put it to the test that if I wouldn't want it or use it for something, then I don't waste time converting it.
