I happily discovered your forum today while I was browsing. My wife does wedding videos and I do her editing. I am only at the user level with computers but I have been doing acceptably well with 2 Canon L 1 and a Panasonic 450 SVHS as source material. Mixing is done with a Panasonic WJ-50 with titling and animation overlay using a IBM 386 Clone. We are using a VideoVGA Board by Truevision with VideoTitler Software by Entropy Engineering. We also use Animator Pro Software by Autodesk. This has worked for us for 3 years. We would like to upgrade our software and hardware with budgetary constraints. Can you give specific recommendations with approximate cost or can you refer me to reference sources designed for a user, not a programmer. We would like the computer to be a good business machine for doing word processing, spread sheets, databases etc. and not a dedicated animation producer. Hope you can give me a guiding hand.
