I am going to try to redirect your question about remote mikes for a
hi-8 camera to the audio section here and see if we get any answers.
I don't have any personal experience there to help you with. I am
coming at DTV from the computer side, where I have been for about
half of my life. (I am 31 now, and have been in computers since I
was about 16).
