#Bad HD cable?
ARG! Every dad's Christmas nightmare!
Got the 2.5" IDE drive, _did_ manage to get the Commodore HD Install Kit, but
there is no joy in AmiLand. Not only don't you get HD instructions with a
HD-less 1200, you don't get them with the HD Install Kit either! However some
thoughtful soul has seen to it that you get about a dozen photostats on using a
floppy-based system. (Say what? How did they know?)
Once the cable is in place _without the HD attached_, the 1200 does not show an
"insert disk" screen. Take cable off, screen shows; put it back, doesn't show.
This leads me to believe the cable is bad since we'd presume that the lines are
all still open circuits with a bare cable attached.
Have I got it right? Anybody have any details/experiences to share?
