It was funny when Intel said that no one needed divisional math accuracy after the fourth decimal and then all of the researchers at NASA, etc… stood up and said, "Do you want to be responsible for the next Shuttle crash where we use Pentiums to do critical computations." Also, IBM recently stopped production of Pentium based systems. They had found that Intel's portrayal of the occurences of mistakes was very much underestimated. The internet is now filled with samples of 'simple' calculations that will illustrate errors. There was even a spreadsheet that someone posted that consistantly creates errors. The bottom line is that it was a MAJOR flaw and that many more people are affected than what Intel would like you to believe.
