#Fargo Primera Pro
I have been working with a desktop publisher who has a Fargo Primera Pro
with the dye-sub feature. Has anyone had experience using this setup? We are
experiencing lots of streaking across the width (short side) of the image.
For example, I created a Christmas tree with colored balls on it. A
reddish streak would across the width of the image wherever there was a red
ball.
We've also experienced a pattern of "boxes" varying of contrast/brightness
about 1" x 1" on an 8"x 11.5" print.
He usually converts a 3DS .tif file to CMYK in Photostyler, then brings it
in to Pagemaker for printing. He doesn't have Photoshop on the PC, but he does
on his Mac. We were getting acceptable results before. Unfortunately, he's a
bit absent-minded, and might not be consistent in his manipulations.
I had originally planned to buy the Primera Pro if demand for printed
images called for it, but I now feel it may be too buggy. Any good/bad luck
stories out there?
