BTW, I've been reading with interest some of the other posts now in this
thread, and I'm waivering. My FIRST inclination when coming upon this thread
the other day, was that indeed focusing on a reflection WOULD put the mirror
object out of focus, as it appears to be a virtual image an equal distance
behind the mirror as the real object is in front. But, then I thought, well
heck, it's just reflected light rays, just like any other surface, so it should
be in the same focal plane as the mirror. This was the philosophy under which
I wrote my message.
Now it appears that maybe my first instinct was correct. Still, I think that
in the image in question, STILL.JPG, the refelction does look good, and does
blur in the area of the table top that is out of focus, and remind myself that
a semi-mirrored surface is much more nebulous than a perfectly mirrored one.
Well, I think I've sufficiently muddied the waters now, so I'll take my
leave!<g>
