without infringing on Intel patents, then another team of equally clever
engineers can clone the function of whatever chips Newtek needs to make it's
Toaster work on any platform of their choosing. And if the Toaster card cant

Extremely cogent reasoning, Nicholas. I don't know much about the
architecture of the Video Toaster itself, but your comments about the Flyer are
a great awakening: there would seem to be little reason why the Flyer (perhaps
with augmentation) could not simply substitute for the chipsets of the Amiga.
That would certainly open the possibilities to at least a PC based Video
Toaster/Flyer setup.
