"and drive the price down still further" Like any other technology going up the curve, the prices are going downward, no matter what the solution. Matrox, Fast and the rest of the other "solutions" are still overpriced in my opinion, but the pricing has been headed south since last year as the competition increases. I can't see any future for NewTek unless they migrate to the PC, the Mac or both. On the PC side, in particular, there are a slew of companies heading into this market – and one or two of them are going to come up with blockbuster products. At that point – given the current Commodore situation – it's bye-bye NewTek. I don't think they're going to stand still for that. The real question in my mind is whether or not existing owners of Amigas and Video Toasters will simply take it in the neck and be stuck with an essentially orphaned system because NewTek has gone on to other, more profitable platforms and doesn't want to put R&D money into a shrinking market segment. Apple, for instance, is famous for abandoning owners of its high-end machines (which may in part account for their continually shrinking market share). What's the old saw? Time will tell. Jerry
