Steve, I think that you could do it the way you're trying to, but here's a much more effective way: use "Map To Palette" in the process panel. Make color 0 white, make all other colors black in the palette , then map. If that's not quite right, make a few more colors near 0 also white, till the background converts just as you want it. Should be a piece of cake. Doing it in ARexx also should be trivial. –Ben …via AutoPilot
