I need help with memory! I have read discussions on memory management in this forum, in the installation manuals for 3DS, ACAD, windows etc. and have never managed to grasp Extended, Expanded, NOEMS etc. etc. Once I run Smartdrive and exit back to DOS, I have to reboot to run DOS programs such as Word Perfect. I do know that I need all the RAM possible for my 3DS renderings. I am currently paging out excessivley. General computer specs: 486-DX2-66, 32 meg RAM, 1 Gig SCSI drive. DOS MEM reports: (PRIOR to running Smartdrv) 655360 bytes total conventional memory 655360 bytes available to MS-DOS 460096 largest executable program size 32505856 bytes total contiguous extended memory 32505856 bytes available contiguous extended memory DOS MEM reports: (AFTER running Smartdrv) 32505856 bytes total contiguous extended memory 0 bytes available contiguous extended memory 13565952 bytes available XMS memory 64Kb High Memory Area available 3DS reports: Available: 13204 k Used: 2372 k I know the memory is there! Why doesn't 3DS? Can someone pleeeeease just show all the required lines in Config.sys and Autoexec.bat and system.ini and wherever else. (I only need lines for memory management! I've got the other misc. down.) Much appreciated!!! Tom
