John, Thanks. I actually was able to recover most of my data off the first drive by wrapping it up in plastic and setting it between two Blue Ice cooler ice packs. (Don't try this at home…I did make sure that no humidity was able to leak into the bag and cause condensation.) But it kept the drive cool long enough to retrieve some stuff. It sounds like maybe they shipped me Alec's drives. <g> Boy it's really hard to pin things down when they keep moving. Roger D.
