Stefan: >I would like to show YOUR OPINION in this film (13.3.1995, 8.15 pm). If you have an imagination about the near future, please send me via post two or three lines (including name and city)!!!< Breaking out my cracked crystal ball <g>… In the upcoming decade, I forsee DTV and multimedia becoming *much* more common as computer equipment and software prices go down to levels the average consumer can comfortably afford. I think online connections will become more sophisticated, allowing people to ship videomessages across the nets (once they work out a standard compression scheme that can be sent across phone lines w/out costing the sender an arm & a leg, that is). Tho I'm out on a limb w/this next one, I think videotape will start to be phased out by the end of these ten years, to be replaced by some variant of recordable CDs (more durable, for one thing, and more control over your final product). And finally, I predict the rivalry between Microsoft, IBM and Apple will end up in a shooting war! <VBG> Hope this helps, Tim Liebe Contributing Editor, VIDEO Magazine New York, NY
