Bob…FYI we have make, grep, unix-like CC front end compiler, and emacs all in our DL's…I am STILL sitting on the DEBUG source and will upload it today or tommorow if I get it compiled or not…I gave Marc Howard a copy of it, and he says it compiles and works as is. I have been too busy playing source-code funnle to do much in the way of development myself. I too would like to see some sort of SHELL for the AMiga with symbol substitution, command history, pipes etc. I also have the source to Unix's DIFF…I need to check out how kosher it is to use that source. Many's the time I've wanted just a simple file comparison program on the Amiga….which all leads me to another point. Joe Kiasler has suggested that we have a "Projects" subsection…a section with DL's and messages dedicated to group projects. For instance, I could upload the source to DIFF and MORE (I have a more filter for the IBM PC…I'm getting to be a terrible source code monger) to the DL with notes to the effect that they are from this or that machine, and need such and such done to them to make them work on the Amiga…or we could discuss what features we want to see in an Amiga shell. Joe suggested that DL8 be changed from "Community square" to "Projects" and "Hardware" be changed to "Community Square"…the current hardware DL has almost NO uploads, but the section is getting some trafic wich is the only problem I see with the proposed rearangment. Anyhow, I like the idea of a projects section. What do yall think ? What projects do you have in mind ? (How goes VMCO Bob ?) —George Jones/Wizop
