They've probably done this already, but… (1) Whatever Irdis is, it ain't "a stable version of UNIX". You can't run UNIX without an MMU. Well, you CAN. We did it once. You get about 10 syscalls/second. Remember, UNIX things all like to run at location 0. (2) Do I worry about ABAQ infiltrating the workstation market. Not for awhile, bud. I don't think Apollo, Sun, and DEC are loosing any sleep either. Would you spend $5000 on an unproven piece of hardware running an untested and brand new operating system purchased from a company who could very well throw in a couple of their 2600 video games? Not me… (3) Never heard of that one. Amiga already has Ethernet hardware, TCP/IP and NFS software, The X Windowing System Real Soon Now. That's what most all the Workstations are using. Why use something I can't hook my Suns or DECs to? Maybe once I'm the leader, but certainly not coming out of nowhere. -Dave
