There are two models, a player only and a recorder/player. The player is
around $9000 and the record unit is $13000-$15000. The disk media is $150
per disk they ae WORM disks so they are not re-usable. They are
genlock-able and record in composite as well as RGB. These units are
professional quality (Expensive for home use) but if you can find a rental
company that has them then a project could just cost the price of the disk
plus rental.
The record unit has a telephone style keypad to record frame numbers and
entry of number of frames to record. It also has RS232 serial capabilities
and this is where it gets really useful.
Hope this helps,
Jeff
P.S. The model numbers are Panasonic TQ3031F for the recorder and
TQ3032F for the player.
