How about any of the older terminal programs collecting dust in the DLs?
Everybody's into feature-itis these days, but the first few terminals
released (back in the days of the first ATerms, for example) were pretty
sparse, like you describe. I think the first ATerm was only about 13K in
size. Go for a browse and see what you can turn up.
