May I first suggest posting messages to Michael Sharpe at 76004,2300 who is
both a support rep and on this forum more often than I? If I get here once
every other week, it's unusual, and messages scroll off the forum after a
time, tho' I don't know what that time is. So if I don't see it (and answer
it) within say 7-10 days, it's gone. I've never had any messages scrolled
over to email by the sysops here, which is common on other fora I get into.
My apologies, however. Now to answer your question:
Yes, we still sell and support SuperPlan, and yes, it is intended to work
with SBPro using the ARexx port to send commands, etc. You can write a DML
program with SPlan macros embedded in it, which will be executed by SPlan
once it's been called. I don't know the syntax for this, however, but
Michael I'm sure can answer that question.
Superplan hasn't been upgraded for over a year now (current version 1.06),
tho' this is anticipated to change in the near future, tho' I can't say yet
how soon since we haven't scheduled it. We have a new tech who is an
absolute whiz with it (so new I don't know his name), and it happens he
codes in Amiga C and ?assembler as well. He'll be working with the source
code on it after some time goes by, tho' again, I don't know when exactly.
I know nothing about Advantage which Roy P referred to, so I can give you
no comparisons or guesstimate as to its suitability for use w/SBPro. If it
has an ARexx port, I'd *guess* you could do the same sort of thing with it
as you can SPlan, but it's only a guess.
BTW, there is a new release of SBPro forthcoming RSN (this is not CBM
"RSN"), which we'll be announcing shortly. Don't know yet upgrade policies,
but will post a text file in the Data Lib (13) here for announcement. Amiga
World may also be printing something on it as well once they have the
details. Keep your eyes open for it, and don't despair on SPlan or my lack
of response. It's only that I never saw your questions….
