HI ALL! My name is JD, and I'm about to plunge into desktop video, specificallyation I'm brand new to the Amiga world and I have to make a purchasing decision within 1 week The hardware budget is 10 – 15,000. I need to do both 2 and 3d animation, digitize in pictures or line art and then animate the figures, etc. The question is obviously: What are the hardware software set-ups required? Lets please break this down into two sections: Setups which would be able to ourput real-time video through a genlock device to a recorder. PLease advise: what Amiga, what extras, how much RAM, which software, which Genlock/converter which VTR for the highest quality Secondly, I understand that to use any 24 bit color systems I need a frame buffer and instead of a genlock a controller which can do frame by frame recording. What software hardware goes with this? Prices please, also is anyone in the Chicago area using such setups and can we get together? Also, does anyopne know who has the best prices on this equipment, new or used? Thank you. I've been in the PC world for years, and here I'm a neophyte, so any and all help is deeply appreciated. What is the difference between Deluze-paint and deluxe video? Are effects like dissolves and wipes software controilled? If so what software handles it? If hardware controlled, how? (I want to the minimum amount of video-video editing) DOes anyone use: Imagine, sculpt, disney animation studio? how do they compare? ANy programs that let me run a sound track while animating so I can synch? Help! Thanks again.. J.D.
