Yes, HP's RET is used for all printing (text & graphics). Printing out a
complex PgS file (using several fonts in large and small sizes) and then a
page of straight ascii text (using the HP's internal fonts) will be the
best way to compare the printers… and if you can, use PgS to output a
PostScript file and print it on a native postscript printer (like the NEC)
and on the HPIIIP w/PS cartridige. The HPIIIP, while not exactly fast, is a
really fine laser.
