Thanks for the advice, Warren. Living in Japan, I am not sure which variety I've got, as names and types differ. Mine do, however, self wrap. I've seen a number of places here where commercial growers grow caulis, and they never wrap them. For these two reasons I doubt that this is the reason for the problem. I shall, however, keep your advice in mind. Reuben
