Thanks Brad, the printhead does seem to sit idle in its parked position after each pass. The thing that troubles me is that the printer does pretty much the same thing using two different drivers. Both PageStream and Commodore "beta" driver seem to take the same "great" length of time. I've asked for ideas in the HP forum, but doubt if they'll worry too much with Amiga usage. Thanks……………Roger
