Marcel,
The only other two programs that I am aware of are MIDI Quest and X-OR.
I own Midi Quest, but have only read the reviews for X-OR. Therefore, my
opinion is based on hands-on use of 2 out of the 3 products.
As a Universal patch librarian, the PatchMeister wins hands-down over the
other two products. It has a beautiful interface with on-line help. It is
extremely intuitive to use, is powerful, versatile, and does the job. It
comes with a number of drivers, with more planned for the future. It also
includes a Driver Creator that allows you to create your own MIDI drivers
for whatever MIDI gear you own.
The PatchMeister can be used as a stand-alone program with any Amiga
sequencer or can be used as an accessory with B&P Pro. Then, you could save
all your patches with your songs in B&P Pro. I like the program very much.
Just remember, that the PatchMeister is not a Universal Editor. As a
Universal Librarian, I consider it the best on the Amiga market today.
