I've seen HMSL to an extent. I've talked with Nick Didkovsky (a professional user with several progressive jazz/rock out under the name Doctor Nerve). He ususal throws in a few HMSL pieces. I've heard andplayed with many of the products you mentioned. What I'm really looking for is flexibal timbral alteration real time or for long hard disc recorded samples. I also have a Serge Modular Synthesizer…sad those things are out of vogue since they still are UNSURPASED for wierd real time timberal alteration. I'm a professional video tape editor and consider it very important to have compression/expansion of samples to fit time. I don't think it's esoteric at all! Digidesign has such things on the Mac. Since MANY Amiga users are into video I'd consider this a very important feature. I would hope hard disc recording would offer more than simple editing. the DSP 56001 is capable of alot. Why limit it? Open it up to the above uses (time compresion/timberal modification) and they broaden their market to include Amiga video folks and Universities and individual experimentors who can't afford Macs. That's a very big part of the music market on the Amiga. $2000 is a big price to pay to get little more than a better raisor blade. Hope Sunrize is Listening.
