Hello Marlene, I'm pleased you are visiting the UK – but for garden visits March is a bit early in the year! Let me know where you will be based, and I'll try and find some which are open before Easter – the traditional "start date" for garden visits over here! If you are in London, Kew Gardens would certainly be worth a visit, lots of very good bulbs, world famous glasshouses, (including one which is pretty new), and the garden of the Dutch House (though the house is closed). If you go up to your "native" Yorkshire, the Harlow Carr gardens about 5 miles outside Harrogate also have superb bulbs and other spring plantings. I live in Lincolnshire – (just south of Yorkshire) – and use a PC clone; my excuse for it being a 33mhz 386 is that I use it for graphic design and DTP, (but 80% of the time an 8086 would do me, as I spend more time using it as a typewriter working with my husband in our small architectural practice: he is still quicker with a pen than I am with CAD – and he is quite unconvinced by anything to do with computers!) I'd love to know where in Yorkshire you were born: it is a county I know quite well: we lived in Beverley for a time, and visit York pretty often.
