#AREAD & BridgeCard

I'm running a bbs on an Amiga 2000 with a bridgecard and a 49 Mbyte
"Flashcard-49" (32 Mbytes on the Amiga side). The system and software
(BBS-PC!) are working great except for one problem. When users upload
software for MS-DOS PC's, I need to copy those files to the PC side so that I
can test the programs before posting them for the public. The AREAD command
which came on the MS-DOS disk provided with the bridgecard is supposed to
provide this capability. I have found it adequate for copying text files,
buexecutable files copied to PC disks with the AREAD command will not run.
They usually cause the PC to lock-up requiring rebooting of the PC. I've
noted that files copied with the AREAD command have extra bytes added
(typically up to more than 200). It looks like the AREAD command adds
"padding" to the end of files similar to XMODEM transfers. I don't think
this should cause the files to be unexecutable though.
Has anyone else run across this problem? IS there an alternative way
that I can copy files from Amiga disks to the PC hard disk or the internal 5
1/4" floppy?
By the way, the Amiga is a TERRIFIC machine for running a bbs. The latest
version of BBS-PC! does not appreciably slow down the computer, so I can
continue to use the Amiga and the PC for other tasks while someone is on-line
on the bbs! I LIKE IT!… if I could only get the AREAD command to work.
