A friend of mine just gave me his old AutoCAD, version 2.62 (5/12/87). I tried configuring it for my PC Ltd AT clone, using the Hercules compatible mono card that came with the system. However, when I enter the drawing editor, the screen is only semi-coherent, it is full of snow and garbled data. I can tell something is there – the program isn't locked up, the video is just wrong. 'end' brings back the main menu. I tried getting it to configure as CGA mono, EGA mono, but no go. Now, I know this is an old version, but would there be a special video driver for this card? I'm guessing that the card isn't 100 percent Hercules-compatible, so that's why it's not working. I've successfully run other Hercules-compatible software on it before. Has anyone heard of this PC Ltd incompatibility before?
