Rob, I don't believe my problem could be caused by the terminating resistor, but I'm willing to try anything! (except desoldering chips to find the bad one:) so I'll try it now and let you know. The problems with the HD and the gurus and such seem to be caused by that problem in address 002019A2, I do get the same problems (except the HD one) with the interface removed from the pass-thru, so that would lead me to believe that it's not a bus conflict problem, just a flaky chip (yes, the one at address 002019A2!) Now, if I could only find out which chip!!! (or is that chip-which?) Good idea, tho, to test it in another machine, I'll try that next. So what's it like to live next to the CIA? With all those high-level signals it's a wonder that your machine works at all! I could just picture some agent with some high-tech monitoring equipment picking up Dragon's Lair from your machine and screaming "swing your sword, Dirk, swing it!" -Jay
