Okay, that eliminates the number one buggaboo, now we'll have to dig down a
little deeper. Something is probably trampling on your network shell in
memory. Which shells are you using and how are they loaded? XMSNETX?
EMSNETX? Are you using any third-party memory managers like QEMM386 or
386^Max? Are you setting any of AutoCAD's memory-related environment
variables to limit or force memory addressing? Any of these could be causing
or contributing to the problem.
The easiest way to point out the culprit is to strip your AUTOEXEC and
CONFIG files down to bare minimium and test that way. Gradually add
statements and drivers back in one at a time and retest until you experience
the problem again, and you've probably found your instigator. Configure the
machines for straight VGA, use the conventional memory shells, and
temporarily disable anything else not absolutely necessary. Make sure your
server is healthy too, and hasn't run out of directory entries, disk space,
or that you have people run out of disk space allotments.
