BlockSOLID itself has many command for operating on and getting information from AutoCAD surface entities. Our latest release (which is almost de-bugged) has some neat stuff like Surface Offsetting (SOFFSET), Surface Editting (SEDIT) and a HELIX command for designing springs, worm gears, drills, tapered and twisted wings, etc..
