indexed file access
Is there a way to access files in LISP other than sequentially?
I have to look through a file of about 40,000 lines and sequential reads
and look sees take me about 5 minutes. If there is anyone out there that
knows of an indexed file reading system in LISP, I would like to know about
it.
I'm in a UNIX environment, so maybe a shell to C work, but then I'd have to
learn C. <another itch>
