Thanks Malcolm: My goal is to be able to learn AutoCAD at home and interchange files created on a DOS version. I was trying to find out if this was possible on the MAC version…if they were that compatible and if the commands were similar. Now it seems a mute point..I am sure that for those who make a living at this that your program represents a small price to pay for the apparent quality that your loyal supporters attest to… I'm really not your market and that was part of my point regarding pirating. If I had a copy..it would not have taken money from anyone's pocket.. AutoDesks loss is incurred when a firm or entity that would have otherwise purchased a copy, instead gets and uses one illegally. AS to price. Being first, being the most expensive, having the biggest market is not enough to sustain a competitive advantage over the long haul.. I am not qualified to talk about AutoCAD, so don't take any of this as a comment as to its quality or what it provides its users. I'm also not one to continue a dialog of electronic "tennis" as one person bats his or her opinion back and forth accross the network. All I know is what I've seen in the accounting field, which is my area of expertise, that "big" and the most expensive is never a guarantee of being best or being about to keep the market. We all can think of examples of this starting with the IBM PC vs. Compaq vs. Dell, etc. I'm sure your R&D and marketing group thinks of this each night – so you don't need my imput. Thanks for your comments. the best to your efforts and may AutoDesk stay ahead on the leading edge….as long as it doesn't compete with my companies. (g) Myron MacLeod
