Re: What's wrong with Autocad Postcript driver. The main thing is that it
must be configured as your plotter (which it isn't) instead of as your
printer (which it is). They do not want to have to reconfigure Acad each
time they switch from their plotter to their Postscript laser. Also, they
still do a lot of work in R10, and the postscript driver in 10 is not
mature enough (to many unprintable files, which can get expensive with a
service bureau). Also, my client claims, and I have not verified, that the
R10 driver does not support color. I realize these are R10 problems and my
question pertained to R11, but we are trying to maintain some consistency
while using the two versions, such as only having to learn one way to plot,
and since this third party package is the only acceptable means we found
for R10, we are trying to use it in the R11 environment. Also, I can see
many situations where includeing XREFs in a DXFOUT will be necessary, and
binding, then unbinding the files is just to klunky.
