Kurt,
About your proposed SW/HW system for your clients. You said
"I would let them manually transfer what info they would like to have into BEST."
My suggestion is to talk to your clients first. Most people are extremely
unhappy having to rekey data into computer system. "You mean i have to do this
again!" It is always a good idea
to walk thru the proposed system with the users before real money is committed.
I donn't have BEST so donn't now about its data import/export ability.
As fallback, pretty slick accounting systems are done with Superbase Pro.
I have seen a couple at Seattle SLUG user group meetings.
By the way, LAN are pretty expensive solutions in search of problems. Except
for MACs, you can budget on ~$1000/station for a solid software/hardware network.
If you can justify using LAN, Superbase said they will have a LAN version out
around Feb.( don't know whether they mean the Amiga version). You can contact
them . ( By the way, join lobbying them against their newest folly for copy protection,
dongles for the run-time versions, this after dropping it for registered users).
