I don't use DXF3DS at all. Just GIFDXF the plasma gif and load the dxf into 3d studio as a dxf file. Derive object names from entity, flip the normals, apply smoothing and off you go. I've never had any problem with one or two faces flipped over. You could always apply a two sided material to fix that though, as I doubt you'd ever want to fly underneath your landscapes. Aaron
