#A1000 upgrade
My thanks to Betty, Kurt and Don for their answers.
The reason for my question is basically to determine my purchasing strategy.
If a reasonable trade-in was available, I didn't want to buy a couple of 256K
internal ram cards which my friends still need. It was also possible that any
trade-in would have included 1.3 AmigaDos (which they also need).
I would also like to take the time to apologize for any confusion that the use
of my term 'upgrade' may have caused some people. With IBM and compatibles,
computer systems are upgraded from the primitive 8088 microprocessors to the
80286's to the 80386's, the video hardware is upgraded from the dinky CGA
adapters to the EGA's to the VGA's and etc. I didn't realize my boo-boo until
it was too late, alas.
I have more questions which are really AmigaTechnical, but I'm going to take
more time to gather my thoughts for the next time.
