This additional module to ARE-24 for AutoCAD R12 for DOS and Windows, allows users to modify the standard ARE-24 material libraries and to add new materials. Users can scale materials, edit material properties or add their own materials, based on e.g. scanned textures. This way one can create his own custom ARE-24 Material Libraries. The ARE-24 Material Library Editor becomes a part of ARE-24 and also includes a new texture projection type, Autofit, which will scale any texture automatically to match the dimensions of a vertical plane. According to Caddesk of January 1994, the ARE-24 Material Library Editor is a good example of market forces in action and offers the most preview options of any AutoCAD rendering application. The ARE-24 Material Library Editor enhances the value of ARE-24, the first and fastest integrated rendering application for AutoCAD R12. ARE-24 is available at US$ 795.00 for AutoCAD R12 for DOS, Windows, and for UNIX on HP, SGI and Sun workstations in various languages. The ARE-24 Material Library Editor retails at US$ 99.00 excl. VAT, but registered users of ARE-24 can obtain the Editor free of charge until May 1, 1994.
